About the Founder

Our founder, Christian Pokorn, specializes in building for New Orleans homes. Woodwork runs in his blood – coming from a long line of woodworkers in his native country Austria, he discovered his passion in summers spent working in his family's sawmill. Furthering his skills and goals eventually led him into construction; he is also the principle of New Orleans mainstay Pokorn Construction.

Uptown Millworks sees him using his exacting standards and skills for custom work and historically faithful restoration. Whether it's millwork or construction, Christian Pokorn knows how to turn woodwork into works of beauty.
