Joy and craft, joint together.

Quality

What we do, we do with love.

It's more than part of our philosophy – quality is our entire philosophy.

Building with and for honesty means, our work adheres to the standards and regulations specified by the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the NOLA Historic District Landmarks Commission. With natural materials at the core of what we do, we do our part for social responsibility with every part we create. As such, we don't keep stock or a large inventory, whatever we need is bought and used for one specific job. This keeps us lean, as well as our waste bin, since every bit of material is used for a specific project. Everything is delivered by us according to the lowest possible carbon footprint. From our workshop to your doorstep, with care taken at every turn (Quite literally, these potholes are no joke).

Through working in the greater New Orleans area and the Gulf South, we also reduce carbon footprints and by working with locally available and sustainable woods and lumber, wherever possible. The FSC-certified forestation ensures both a high quality in materials and making sure we don't take anything from the beautiful nature around us that would harm it. Another reason for us to create millworks is that it allows us to craft with integrity, as custom elements and furnitures aren't subject to the difficulties and issues of mass production. To us, building in a timeless and long lasting manner means both quality in what you commission and own and that the resources used will be available for future generations as well.

Recycling

Every material is used for a specific project. However, waste or superfluous bits just are in the nature of working with wood. To make for sustainable use we minimize its effect by repurposing it. It's not waste if you're using it right.

Cutoffs, scraps, bits and pieces are used where needed for other projects in the workshop or used to create smaller details and items. If somebody needs it for a personal project, we happily donate it. Even smaller pieces, sawdust and things that nobody necessarily wants are donated to animal shelters, gardens or just used for heating in our homes

Materials

Building for the local climate isn't always easy, luckily we have plenty of experience at it. Everything we make is built not just to look good right now, but also in the future. The elements can't be tricked, however, and what we build is made from natural materials. This means that based on humidity, moisture, winds, temperature changes the look of your product can change. While we do everything in our powers to conform to descriptions, we can't do anything about outside forces.

The same goes for the material starting out. Variations in size, finish and performance or even flexing can occur with every product. There is no complete control over aspects like color, grain, veining, texture of natural products. That's what makes nature so beautiful and needs to be taken into consideration. It's not flaws, it's really just how some things are. We can change their look and use – but not their nature.

Care

Know that when your project arrives at your doorstep, we've done everything in our power to make the millwork beautiful. We can only guarantee something when it's properly installed and cared for, as such it will be performed by our team delivering and installing themselves and working according to all specifications stated by our contract with you. Any sales collateral such as material samples, photographs, drawings and any other particulars associated or involved in the sale of the goods, is used for reference purposes only and meant to be taken as such.

Rest assured though, if you can accept that pieces handcrafted from natural materials have their unique quirks and may not be exactly like a description or what you had in mind. We build any and all pieces to conform to our description, meaning we fully intend it to last and be beautiful. We will not be liable for any variances or inconsistencies.
