Our Process
As craftsmen we bring the right experience to custom builds. If you expect value, you need to place it in a custom-build. We in turn provide you not just with skills, but also service, responsiveness, directness and accountability.
Communication is the key to both sides being happy and whether you call us up or use our quote form, we'll reply promptly. Just so you know how things are going, here's an overview of our process. This is what you can expect from Uptown Millworks:
Project Quote
Quotes are free and we enjoy the opportunity to working with you. Let us know if you have any questions, we'll be in touch to go over everything we have to give you the confidence you need.
Quote Signed
Once you've approved the quote and signed off on it, we will begin work. You'll be provided with a copy of the contract. We charge a non-refundable 40% deposit for every project with a signed contract.
Drafting & Sketching
Based on your input and needs, we will draft the designs based on our discussions. Measurements and references will be provided by you and we'll make it happen.
Approval
Can't start building something you don't like, so we show you the designs based on all the info. Did we get it right? et us know by approving the design.
Sourcing Materials
We keep a low inventory to keep costs of stock low and allow for flexibility. Whatever we need, we will order the wood to create everything custom. If you have use for scraps let us know. We try to be as sustainable as possible here and let nothing go to waste.
Millwork
That's when our business comes in. We create the millwork and right trims for your project and get the design to the exact measurement and looks that you approved. What you saw is what you get, since the millwork is handled by the same artisan that sketched that design for you.
Shipping and Installation
We work throughout the greater New Orleans area and once we're done we'll have your piece shipped or drive by and install it ourselves. The most important thing is that it will be installed properly and look just right.
